  1. Log into your Power Up Sports account by clicking this Registration Link
  2. If you do not have an account, please Sign Up for one. 
  3. Once you are in your account, click the Get Involved! button on the left menu bar
  4. Select TEAM OFFICIAL APPLICATION
  5. Answer the questions asked. If you do not have a child in soccer or connected to your account please write which age group or program you would like to volunteer or coach in. 

If you have a current and valid police record check please send a photo or scan of it to coaching@pecsa.ca

All Head and Assistant Coaches are REQUIRED to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check at least every 3 years. These requests are made ONLINE through the Ontario Provincial Police. There is no fee for this check. The below letter from PECSA will need to be uploaded when completing your request. We've heard of considerable wait time [10+ weeks] to get these back, so please submit your request ASAP.

TRAINING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

COACH REQUIREMENTS (HEAD COACHES)

  1. Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening 
  2. Understanding the Rule of Two (Approx 20min)
  3. Respect in Sport – Activity Leader Program (Approx 3hrs)
  4. Coaching Soccer in Canada (Approx 1hr)

ASSISTANT COACH OR SAFE SPORT ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS

  1. Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening - All team officials must have a valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC) on record. 
  2. Understanding the Rule of Two (Approx 20min)

VOLUNTEER COACH INCENTIVE POLICY

1. PURPOSE. PECSA recognizes the significant time, commitment, and leadership provided by volunteer coaches. In support of our volunteers and to encourage ongoing participation in youth sport, PECSA provides a registration-fee incentive for qualified Volunteer Head Coaches who complete all required training and screening as set out by PECSA and Ontario Soccer. This policy outlines eligibility and conditions for the PECSA Volunteer Coach Incentive Program.

2. ELIGIBILITY. To qualify for the incentive, individuals must:

a. Serve as a Coach of a PECSA team for the full season (assistant coaches are not eligible under this policy).

b. Complete all season-long responsibilities including team communication, practice planning, attendance at games and training sessions, and adherence to PECSA coaching guidelines.

c. Successfully complete all mandatory Ontario Soccer and PECSA training requirements.

3. INCENTIVE STRUCTURE. Eligible Volunteer Head Coaches will receive one of the following incentives per team coached:

a. Coach Discount - Coaches registered with PECSA will receive a 50% discount on the registration fee for one registered child for the following season.

b. Player-Coach Discount - If the coach is themselves a registered PECSA player, they will receive a 100% discount on their own player registration for the following season.
